Jesus has reached the place of the skull and is stripped of his clothing. Now in the midst of personal and emotional anguish, Christ endures physical anguish in the pain of crucifixion. His friends and family watch helplessly as the Son of Man is nailed to the cross.
In the midst of our pain, we feel, at times, maybe God hasn't heard my prayer? We can certainly understand the Lord's cry, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?" Our sins keep us from being close to God, and in that moment of separation, we experience true loneliness.
As we meditate on this station, we should remember that in the midst of our personal struggles, our personal storm, Christ is right beside us. He may be the whisper in the wind of the storm, but He is there, waiting for us to see the light of His glory and praise Him at all times, even when we think there's more rain coming.
